We are very excited to bring you a series of Surtex previews for the 2014 show taking place on May 18 – 20, 2014 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York. Surtex is the only show in North America solely devoted to selling and licensing original art and design for all types of products.
We are extremely proud of many of “The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design” e-course students and are pleased to be celebrating their success with them as they prepare for the show.
How are you preparing for the show?
This is my third time at Surtex but I’m especially excited about this year! I’ve been taking the ABSPD Module 4 as well as both of Lilla Roger’s MATS A & B and MATS Bootcamp this year. I’ve been working hard on stretching myself as an artist as much as I can, balancing all of the demands of life and family. I’ve been amazed at the inspiring art from all of the talented artists’ that has come out of all of these classes.

About
Heather graduated from Massachusetts College of Art with a BFA in Graphic Design. After working in Boston, she made the big leap and moved to Los Angeles. There she worked for a children’s book packager/publisher and then moved on to work as a senior designer for Barbie Consumer Products at Mattel. Heather now lives in “the Valley” (yes, that valley!) where she creates art that has been licensed on textiles, greeting cards, christmas decor, stationery and many other products. Heather is represented by Jewel Branding and Licensing.***
