We are very excited to bring you a series of Surtex previews for the 2014 show taking place on May 18 – 20, 2014 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York. Surtex is the only show in North America solely devoted to selling and licensing original art and design for all types of products.

We are extremely proud of many of “The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design” e-course students and are pleased to be celebrating their success with them as they prepare for the show.

How are you preparing for the show?

I feel like I’ve been preparing around the clock for Surtex. I know it will be an intense, but very fun and rewarding, three days. I am excited to meet my fellow exhibitors as well as those who stop by my booth. I walked the show last year and I am so incredibly happy that I did. Much of the mystery surrounding what to expect has been removed.
In these final few weeks before the show I have been preparing and practicing my pitch or “elevator speech” and putting the very final touches on a few different collections. I am also preparing various mockups for the booth to show what my patterns might look like on various products. I also plan to kick my social media marketing efforts into high gear to drum up some buzz before the show.
