Pattern course showcase part 2 – Module 3 (April 2013 class)

We are really pleased to showcase part 2 of the beautiful work from our very talented Module 3 students of ‘The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design (the e-course) who took the course in April 2013. Here are more of our fantastic students & the work they have created over the 5 weeks in class.

“The ABSPD e-course has changed the way I looked and created my patterns earlier… It has guided me and helped me in seeing patterns in our day-to-day lives— in as simple things as a rusty door handle to the old broken tiles on the road to the kitchen utensils…! Amazing! ‘” Nandita Singh

“The ABSPD course has been a revelation for me and I could feel more and more confident at the end of each module. Now I can say “I’m a surface pattern designer” and can begin a new life, a first step with a sabbatical year exclusively reserved for a new carreer. Thanks a lot to Rachael and Beth and all my classmates!” Sandrine Hervy

“I think the most powerful experience for me is the positive encouragement of Beth and Rachel, amidst the huge amount of content, to develop your natural inclinations and to follow your own voice. Being able to participate in this experience is multiplied even higher by the opportunity to do this within a fantastic design community.” Sandra Glennie

“I really appreciate the level of specific business information and insight in Module 3 including actual pricing, a big book of relevant contacts, and the practicalities of manufacturing. There was a wealth of knowledge that will make future plans to expand my business require much less arduous personal research.” Nicole Piar

“The most powerful element of the course for me was the opportunity to gain an inside view into the world of surface pattern design through interviews with designers, creatives and business owners. The information provided from these interviews has allowed me to hone and focus my designs as well as gain an understanding of the commercial realities of designing and licensing art.” Lisa Quarterman
