We are really pleased to showcase more of the beautiful work from our very talented Module 2 students of ‘The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design (the e-course) who took the course in August 2013. Here are more of our fantastic students & the work they have created over the 5 weeks in class.

“The most powerful elements of the course have been learning about branding and building collections, and understanding more about intellectual property rights. These aspects have given me more confidence and knowledge in starting my own business Cloud Ashmi.” – Ashmi Shah

“This course has motivated me so much in pursuing my dream of starting my own label and I can’t wait to continue with module 3. The course is a perfect mix of lots of information, exercises and networking with other people who share the passion for surface pattern design. ” – Marie Ravn Jürgensen

“I feel so much more confident and comfortable with my designs – and developing my own style further – now that I’m further through the ABSPD modules. I’m definitely a lot less hung up on doing what I ‘think’ people want and going more with what ‘feels’ intuitively natural for me. Really looking forward to Module 3!” – Kylie Rothero

“Your publishing and networking has been the most powerful element of the course for me and it has helped me develop as a designer by pushing me to create marketable work to meet your showcase submission deadline. Thank you for this wonderful course! I have only just finished week one, but it was enough to get me here on time! I look forward to the wonderful rest of this course!” –  Tasha Stanton of Tasha-Design

“Module 2 has been a wonderful opportunity to explore trends and to work on collections and my brand image. There is still so much yet to take in and loads of exercises I haven’t completed, as we were given such a wealth of information throughout the course, and I’m going to be kept busy right up to the beginning of Module 3 and beyond! My brand is definitely a work in progress but I finally feel that I have the guidelines to market myself and my artwork.” – Liz Plummer

“Module 2 has been extremely valuable in teaching me to push my brand and to be aware of many other things other than just how my designs look. I found the information on trends invaluable, as well as gaining a better understanding of working to briefs. I can’t wait for module 3!” Flora Waycott

Robyn-Bockmann-Gumnut-floral_Lo_Res

“For me, the most valuable part of the course has been learning from Rachel’s own real life design experiences shared as part of the course content. It’s answered many of those industry insider questions that they don’t teach at design school or that I’ve never had the guts to ask! It has been wonderful to take part in something that gives me all the tools & support I need to go out and follow dreams of going it alone as a freelance surface pattern designer!” – Robyn Bockmann

Ulrike Woiwode -Garden Jewels

“Module 2 was packed full of very valuable information, like how to build pattern collections and how to build a strong pattern design brand. I have learned so much and once again totally enjoyed the course and having the opportunity to grown in my creative abilities.” – Ulrike Woiwode
