“This course has given me the confidence to experiment and take risks in order to further develop the skills I need to pursue a career in surface pattern design. The support network in our Facebook group has been priceless.” – Carolyn Greifeld

We are really pleased to showcase the beautiful work from our very talented Module 3 students of ‘The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design (the e-course) who took the course in April 2014. Here are some our fantastic students & the work they have created over the 5 weeks in class.

“The most powerful element of the course for me was the interview with surface pattern designer Khristian Howell. Learning about how she went from working for a company, to being successful on her own, is great reinforcement that I too, will be able to make those same steps in the future.” – Jamie Chapin

“The most powerful element of the course, for me, is that it got me back into creating on a daily basis, drawing everything and anything that I desire without self doubt. It has ignited focus and passion that had been missing in my life. I now favour Illustrator over Photoshop and am really impressed with my progress in the last 6 months. Knowing when to surrender to a bad day by taking some valuable time out. Balance is key!” –  JeliRAD

“The dead-on content has been key for me to anticipate the business side of designing and also the Facebook group has been invaluable in maintaining me connected to other designers that are at the same stage as I am. I’ve enjoyed their feedback and awareness to briefs and competitions.” – Karen Dreyfus

“The greatest value of this course for me was not only to learn about the pattern business and have the opportunity to showcase my work but to be part of a community of creative, unique and supportive designers around the world including Rachael Taylor! It has helped me as a designer to appreciate the unique approach I take in design and to shape it into a brand I am proud of.” – Sandy Jane Peic
