Today we share a perfect image for Day 11 of our #100daysofpattern and also in celebration of Thanksgiving. Make it in Design alumni Darlene Seale is from Fallbrook in California and recently took Module 1: Designing your way in September 2015 and will join us again in 2016 for Modules 2 and 3.

“I’ve been designing for about 4 years, learning technical repeats and all about surface design. I think I’m finally honing in on what my style is but I don’t want to limit my explorations, especially with Modules 2 and 3 on the horizon for me.  I’ve had some success selling my work in shows and on various websites as products.  It has given me a sense of accomplishment and also reveals that my work has some appeal.  One of my pieces has been published on the cover of a health magazine and I showed my painting work last year and sold 3/4 of all the exhibited work.  That amazed me to no end because it was my first show since I was a teenager!  My goal is to become an accomplished surface pattern designer and artist with many licenses to keep me busy.  (Actually, I just want to BE Rachael Taylor!)”

3 Interesting facts about me
1) Despite my generally optimistic attitude, I love a good horror movie!
2) I’m a recovering introvert
3) I live with, and clean up after, a precious and often irritating Cockatoo named Angel who inspires my love of birds
