We’re so excited to be counting down to the start of Module 1: Designing your way – the first of four awesome modules that comprise The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design e-course.

On February 20, 2017 we’ll welcome students from around the globe for 5 weeks of design fun, to build a supportive community of new friends and show YOU just what the surface pattern design industry can offer!

People join our courses for many different personal, professional and creative reasons, but there’s always something that brings everyone together…

As we celebrate Valentine’s day today, we thought we’d share a link to our latest Module 1 student showcase from the September 2016 class.

A very special guest!

We have a very special guest appearing in our next Module 1: Designing your way surface pattern design e-course.

World class surface pattern designer, co-founder of Make it in Design and your course leader Rachael Taylor will be joining in the Module 1 class live too as a fellow classmate for the first time ever!

As the course leader, Rachael is always heavily involved with the community on a weekly and daily basis, but this time she won’t just be the teacher, she’ll be a participating student in real time and doing a few Facebook Lives direct from her studio too!

Rachael will be working her way through all the courses in consecutive order starting with Module 1 ‘Designing Your Way’ starting February 20, 2017.

I just know I’m going to love working alongside my classmates & I will feel really motivated to push my own design portfolio further. The courses have reached over 7000 students from 65 countries in 5 years and what better way to celebrate the magic and grow as a designer than to take part! About Module 1: Designing your way

Module 1: Designing your way (starting February 20, 2017) has been designed to guide you through the exciting process of finding inspiration, interpreting it your own way and then using that as the basis for all your lovely new patterns.

It encourages you to find your style and feel confident as a designer by focusing on the fun creative side (than the business-focused Modules 2 and 3). It has been developed specifically to allow a smooth transition from designing for fun to designing for industry.
