Today we are thrilled to bring you a insight into Make it in Design Co Founder Rachael Taylor’s latest design project. This year Rachael made a promise to herself that this year she would branch out and try new things with her designs. A little while back Rachael got the opportunity to get her designs printed onto fabric and have them sewn up into unique dresses and tops.
Rachael said “I knew I wanted to use my popular ‘Bloom Freedom’ design for a fashion fabric but it was tricky when deciding on a style with the vibrancy of the yellow and the fine detail of the floral motif. I love modern and retro styles but I was wary of the design looking too traditional and outdated. I thought the design and colour leant itself well to chiffon and I had an image in my mind of a floaty, 70’s style top. This is what I briefed my amazing seamstress and I was so amazed with the result”.
P.S See sneak peeks of what Rachael is up to on Instagram. And please do let Rachael know what you think of the dress. Is there a favourite design of Rachael’s that you have that you think would work well?
