Summer School 2018 - Porter & Brawn Top Picks!

Welcome back to the Make it in Design blog! Today we’re thrilled to share a gorgeous curation of artwork out of Summer School 2018, which took place throughout July – August. Summer School is an annual event (much like Winter School), where the MIID team provide creatives all over the globe with cutting edge design briefs to push their creativity and skill set, and to expand their design portfolio. This year we were honoured to partner with trend consultancy Porter & Brawn who provided us with hot trends for our Summer School participants to design to!

This selection are Porter & Brawn’s top picks for each track of Summer School! Commenting on their selection, P&B said:

“We were genuinely impressed by the quality of work submitted! We especially loved the variety of designs that were produced – many of which were highly commercial, well thought through patterns. Picking our favourites from each track was tricky as the calibre was so high. Our decisions were made based a mixture of 1. designs that were striking and stood out (something a little unique and different went a long way!) 2. designs that demonstrated a good translation and understanding of the brief, and 3. designs that could be translated into commercially viable prints!”
