Nicola Collins | Website

Make it in Design School alumni Nicola Collins is originally from Adelaide, South Australia but is now living in London, UK and took Modules 1-3 starting April 2014 – November 2014.

Where are you now and what successes have you enjoyed along the way?

I’ve just quit my day job as a Graphic Designer to look after my two little boys, Jacob and Sean. I’m currently looking for freelance Graphic Design / Surface Design opportunities. I have recently been selected to feature in the new Print & Pattern Nature book by Bowie Style. I was also in the Summer School 2014 Look book.

Tell us 3 interesting facts about yourself!

  • I’m an Australian who moved to London for a year and is still here after 7.5 years – married with 2 children :)
  • I graduated Design School in Adelaide in 1998.
  • My first experience of Surface Design was designing some rocket wrapping paper in 2001 for an Australian company looking for freelance designers for their new online wrapping paper range. (https://www.behance.net/gallery/16877195/Rocket-Wrapping-Paper). I saw the printed version about 2 years later at my local shopping mall :)
