You’re invited to our pattern party!
November 14, 2011 marked the start of a very special journey for Make it in Design. It was day one of the first ever surface pattern design e-course ‘Module 1: Designing your way’ from The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design.
In the last four years over 5,000 creatives from 62 countries have joined us for one of our acclaimed courses, producing over 100,000 gorgeous patterns and works of art between them during the course alone. WOW!
The company has gone from strength to strength not only thanks to the hard work, dedication and love for sharing design skills and industry knowledge from our co-founders Rachael Taylor and Beth Kempton, but also from the incredible support you’ve shown us – our amazingly talented, wonderful new friends.
Thank you so much for being part of our lives over the last four years. We are delighted at all the success you are enjoying as a result of it; thriving as professional designers, winning design contests, securing licensing deals, finding your true creative identity and so much more.
So we thought we’d have a birthday party and invite EVERYONE who loves to admire or create beautiful patterns to celebrate #worldpatternday this November 14.
We’ve got some exciting things planned…

Just make sure you put November 14 in your diary, start having a think about what your favourite pattern is and why you love it so much and keep an eye out for more information and lovely treats to be announced very soon!
