6 Creative Know How’s for creating your logo

1. Fit for purpose

A great logo should completely encapsulate your creative style. It should have an obvious relevance to your design USP and what inspires you.

2. Keep it simple

Try hard not to complicate your logo and create something that is over detailed. Simple logos are the most memorable.

3. Is it legible?

It is more than likely you will use your logo in a variety of colours, sizes and platforms. No matter which format your logo must always be legible. It’s always good to check what your logo will look like on social media, tablet, smartphone etc as well as printed out to make sure everything is readable and consistent.

4. Big and small

For your logo to be the best it can be in all formats it should consist of motifs and/or typography that when scaled up and down it will still make an impact.

5. Make it memorable

The first thing people will see before anything else is your logo. This is your opportunity to create a lasting first impression. Your logo should be remembered easily and recognisable.

6. Current but classic

Although it’s always a good thing to have a modern/contemporary logo it also pays to have an element that gives it timeless feel.
