Joe Richards started out as an assistant to the artist Katerina Jebb and trend forecaster Lidewij Edelkoort, before cutting his design teeth in Paris and London at Céline.

The British designer set up his eponymous label with the aim of creating an evolving, seasonal wardrobe for self-possessed women.

His first collection, presented at London Fashion Week in 2013, was inspired by Sade and became a favourite of editors for its combination of utility, sophisticated attention to detail and use of beautiful hand made fabrics.

Richard’s Spring Summer 2016 collection was his first runway presentation at London Fashion Week.

Made in collaboration with the archives of William Morris, it was the first time a designer had been granted access to the archive in its 154 year history and the results are just STUNNING. You can also check out a superb video all about the process of designing which is a real must here.
