There’s been a lot of buzz around design shows this week with the launch of Surtex, and we’ve been so excited to share some fabulous Surtex previews with you all. Many of these previews feature work by our talented and passionate alumni and we couldn’t be more pleased for their success!
In addition to Surtex, Blueprint Surface Design & Print Show has also been running this week. Blueprint ‘is a design led print show put together by design studios…to appeal to clients from all the different industries that need great artwork for their future products.’
Today we are thrilled to bring you some fabulous design work and interviews from Make it in Design alumni at Blueprint! Our co-founder and course instructor Rachael Taylor even had the chance to catch up with those who were exhibiting at the show and get some lovely photos.
If you are attending Blueprint today, we encourage you to support these talented artists and give these gorgeous stands a visit!

Pencil Parade (Stand 8)
- How did you prepare for the show?
Thankfully we started preparations in late February and had one task each week: Like getting the banner designed and printed, our booth decor, blurb books, templating and printing our artwork tear sheets, etc. Made it so much less stressful. Now we’re on the home stretch and just getting little things together like staplers and breath mints! Besides the physical items, we’re also planning our elevator speeches and making sure our outfits are comfortable as well as representative of our brands and personalities.
- About the designers…

- Which ABSPD course(s) have you taken if you’re a graduate?
We’ve done Modules: 1, 2, and 3, plus a Summer School or two!
