Today we are delighted to bring you the final part of our 3-part showcase of the gorgeous work from our super talented Module 3 students of The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design who took the course in April 2016. Here are some of our wonderful students and the work they have created over the 5 weeks in class.
Louise Hargreaves | Australia
“This course has given me the confidence to explore my style, pushed me out of my comfort zone and into learning Adobe Illustrator (something I have been meaning to do for a while but found too overwhelming) It has also defined a clear path into how I can develop my brand and has really given my limited portfolio the boost it needed”.

I have possessed the technical skills and now feel empowered & equipped with the relevant trade, business & industry knowledge to fully exploit the various options to fulfill my dream as a highly successful surface pattern designer”.

“This course has a huge amount of invaluable information that I will refer to again and again! It has given me the confidence to follow my dream of designing and I can’t wait to reach my goals! The little black book of contacts is fantastic as well”.

“Module 3 is packed with so much useful information, I wouldn’t have had a clue where to start without it! I have learned lots of new skills, both in terms of software and the business side of things, but most importantly I feel so much more confident in my design work”.

“This module has been amazing. Rachael shared so much industry knowledge that would take years and many mistakes to learn for myself. A year ago I had a vision of what I wanted to do, but lacked the tools to do it, and now I feel equipped to make my dream a reality. Thank you so much to all the team”.

“I’ve always been comfortable designing patterns, but never felt I had the knowledge to break into the business. ABSPD helped me to better understand the industry and gain confidence that with my passion and dedication, I can be a successful surface designer”.
Shiori Naruse | UK | Website
“A powerful element of the course for me was the supportive words of ‘There is room for every pattern designer’. This has pushed me to be more experimental in order to find my true unique style. I have hope that once I fully established my design style, there will be a platform out there for me to start my own professional design business”.
Susana Fernandez Bucy | Spain | Website
“I consider that the course has made me develop as a designer thanks to being able to work on real briefs for design companies while learning the insights of the industry. It has also been of great help to learn new CAD skills and getting tips on how to stay motivated since most of us work on a freelance basis and it can end up being a bit tough”.
