Earlier this month we were so excited to team up with our friends at The Pink Pig to bring our community an EXCLUSIVE competition with a chance to win a place on ALL THREE tracks of Summer School 2017 and the chance to see their surface pattern design printed on a sketchbook and a cash prize of £300!
The response we had was AMAZING and the team at The Pink Pig had the fun but difficult task of judging over 250 entries and we revealed the Top 25 shortlist yesterday here and the top ten earlier today. We are so excited to reveal the final WINNER is:
Sharon Elliott

Judging was by the team at The Pink Pig who said:
“We saw a huge response from an array of talent, a true credit to new and existing designers, not just from the UK but from around the globe.
Make it in Design must also be given credit for what they have achieved, creating such fantastic design led courses and a wealth of sources in which to draw inspiration.
It wasn’t easy to pick a winner from over 250 entries received and although every entry had its own unique qualities, the winner stood out to us from the very start.
The use of colour comes complementary of a recent trend in pastel tones, the Scandinavian approach to the designs final presentation was stunning and the research into our wire bound process showed initiative from the designer Sharon Elliott.
All of this topped off by a beautiful floral design became the winning combination.
Finally I would like to point out, that although design is subjective and the purpose of this competition was to submit a surface pattern design, it is worth noting that a good design for application is not just about ‘good design’, but the whole journey from concept to completion. To design a pattern perfect for sketchbooks & notebooks that would captivate a broad target market with focus on theme, colour, presentation and the end user, is no mean feat and our winner captured this perfectly!
