It’s is time to unveil the winners of the 2015 Print & Pattern Scholarship for The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design (ABSPD). We were thrilled to receive some amazing entries from applicants in 27 different countries around the world and had a wonderful time reviewing all of the applications.
Entries were shortlisted by ABSPD co-founders Rachael Taylor and Beth Kempton, with final judging by Marie Perkins at the Print & Pattern blog. There were so many fabulous designs that we couldn’t decide on just one winner, so we have decided to offer THREE full scholarships and SEVEN runner up prizes. Congratulations to all our winners, and thank you to everyone who entered. The three scholarship winners are:
Shannon Hays | Website – Chosen by Marie from Print & Pattern
“I loved the hand drawn sketchy lines of the cats. They have sweet and quirky
faces that draw you in and the colour palette is fun for juveniles yet sophisticated enough for all ages”
Mimi Hammill | Website – Chosen by Rachael Taylor
“I love the bold style of this design, combined with a striking colour palette. I particularly admire the innovative geometric twist and carefully balanced composition”
Nina Nott – Chosen by Beth Kempton
“I loved the bold use of contrast, the colour palette and the hand drawn elements. This piece really leapt out at me as original and intriguing – I can’t wait to see more from Nina.”
