Rob Ryan at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park

Last week I was lucky enough to attend a talk by the extremely talented and down to earth Rob Ryan who many of us recognise for his distinct paper cutting and screen printing style.

Rob Ryan was at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park (amazing venue) to launch his brand new book “The Invincible Kingdom” . The audience were treated to a hour long talk which covered how Rob Ryan began exploring his drawing style at art college up to now and his exploration of words and returning to his painting roots.

Absolutely fascinating and if you ever get the chance to attend a talk by Rob Ryan I would urge you to do so. After the talk Rob Ryan was gracious enough to sign copies of his book for the audience – a long task However I was delighted with my personalised book for my daughter – well worth the wait.

Rob Ryan and his team also held a workshop the following day which unfortunately sold out before I could get a ticket but it looked like a huge amount of fun from the Instagram pics shared by Rob and his team.

Rob Ryan and his team are currently preparing for a pop up shop ‘Ryantoon‘ at The Baltic which opens November 7 and again is another amazing arts venue to visit in the UK.
