Alexander Wills from Fashion Formula: “Congratulations to the winners of the Fashion Formula prizes in the Make It in Design Summer School. The standard of work was exceptional and clearly there are a great number of talented people taking part. It was truly a very difficult decision for our team to choose from. We tried to pick those who had embodied the spirit of the brief, which in design is always important, whilst also adding their own personal style – again very important.
“It was obvious that many of you have understood the sometimes difficult translation between paper and analogue design to digital design. In my experience, often the most successful and most popular designs are those that have seamlessly merged traditional and modern techniques of design.
“Our team particularly enjoyed the French Riviera and Modern Pop art galleries and it was interesting to see how you drew inspiration from artists such as Lichenstein and Camille Walala.
“We hope that you enjoyed learning and creating as much as we loved being a part of your creative journey, and hope to see some of you contributing your designs to our Fashion Formula design community, competing in our weekly design contests or seeing your patterns come to life through our digital textile and wallpaper printing facilities. All the best wishes and success for the future.”
