Summer School 2017 Winners

The Make it in Design team have truly enjoyed every moment of Summer School 2017 and we do hope you’ve enjoyed it just as much. Today we are delighted to announce our Summer School winners and offer our HUGE congratulations and thanks to you all!

Rachael Taylor: “We have been completely overwhelmed with the unbelievably high standard of work that has been submitted during the Make it in Design Summer School 2017. With breathtaking colour, patterns and textures, and innovative ideas and presentations flooding the galleries, it’s been SUCH a joy to see all your design work! We are so very proud to have a global community of extremely talented students creating world-class design – you are all standing out as major players in the design industry. I personally am so thrilled to see where your designs take you – times like these are so exciting and we are truly honoured to be part of your design journey. Sending out a HUGE and SINCERE thanks for all the time, love and effort you’ve put into Summer School over these past weeks.”

We teamed up again with Fashion Formula for Summer School. Fashion Formula is a fun and easy-to-use online platform whereby customers can create their own printed fabric, wallpaper, accessories or gift wrap. This is a fantastic opportunity to see your designs in physical form and Fashion Formula can ship to anywhere in the world!

Along side the chance to win a free place on an upcoming module from The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design per track, Summer School participants were offered the chance to see their designs come alive in print courtesy of Fashion Formula. Fashion Formula offered 9 prizes in total, 3 for each track of Summer School based on work submitted to the two trend briefs:

1st prize: 3 meters of any fabric from their range and 4 sheets of gift wrap (50 x 70 cm each)
2nd prize: 1 meter of any fabric from their range and 2 sheets of gift wrap (50 x 70 cm each)
3rd prize: 2 fat quarters of any fabric ( 65 x 48 cm) and 1 sheet of gift wrap (50 x 70 cm each)

This is such a fantastic opportunity to see your designs in physical form and we were are honoured to reveal the winners below as selected by Fashion Formula.
