We are very excited to bring you a series of Surtex previews for the 2014 show taking place on May 18 – 20, 2014 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York. Surtex is the only show in North America solely devoted to selling and licensing original art and design for all types of products.
We are extremely proud of many of “The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design” e-course students and are pleased to be celebrating their success with them as they prepare for the show.
How are you preparing for the show?
This is the very first Surtex show I am going to attend, and it’s very exciting. I am sharing a booth with the girls from art collective Forest Foundry, of which I am part from. Together we are representing our work. Preparing things is a lot of work and a challenge, but we are also having fun along the way. We have made a schedule for all important things like booth representation, booth banners, our blurb book, goodie bags and more. We made lots of new designs to showcase at Surtex.
Next to that I am promoting my visit to Surtex in several ways. On my website, instagram and facebook page I have set up a Surtex Countdown. For 41 days I am showing sneak previews of the new designs I made for the show. My goal is to get work in the licensing industry. I am very much in love with creating pattern designs, and a big wish of mine is that companies want to license my work in the future. I am really looking forward to it all.
