Surtex, the only show in North America solely devoted to selling and licensing original art and design for all types of products, is almost here! Each year we bring you a series of Surtex previews and we are extremely proud of many of “The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design” e-course students who have featured and continue to feature at the show.
We are delighted to share with you previews of the talented designers showing at Surtex on the Make it in Design blog – enjoy!
Today we feature our lovely ABSPD contributor Jessica Hogarth and Jules Mckeown who together make up The Pattern Social and will be exhibiting at booth 546!
- How are you preparing for the show?
We have been in full preparation mode for the show since around Christmas time. This has included creating new work, formatting existing and new work in to portfolio sheets to take with us to show, as well as getting banners printed and having a practise run for the booth layout.
- About you:
We both love bright colours and 1950s design, and this comes through in our work. Exepct the stand to be bold, bright and illustrative, featuring all kinds of subject matter, from geometrics to llamas! We have a wealth of experience designing for all kinds of product areas, and we are really excited to hopefully connect with new customers at the show.
- Are you doing any other shows in 2016?
Jess is exhibiting at Harrogate Home & Gift in July where she will meet trade buyers to purchase her wholesale collection.
