Here at Make it in Design we LOVE nothing more than hearing from our AMAZING community of talented designers to hear what exciting projects they have going on.
Most recently we were thrilled to hear from Lucy Hebden of @lucylovesdesign who told us:
“Some of the exciting things that we’ve done after summer school are this a cool new area of art I’ve got in to with my patterns ….
I’ve started painting giant sculptures for charity art trails and covering them in my surface pattern designs. I painted this rocket sculpture last summer for ‘Rocket Round Leicester’ it is a patchwork of lots of my patterns, it has some paisley patterns I did for a summer school brief a few years ago. The charity also licensed the design for some of their official merchandise and it was printed on travel cups.
This spring I have painted 3 more sculptures with my pattern designs for different sculpture trails. An owl sculpture, giraffe and SnowDog- they will be popping up this summer in different cities all over the UK before being auctioned for charity so do keep an eye on my Insta for the big reveal and you may spot some other work from summer schools past”.
