The Patternbase has just launched a fundraising campaign to help support the launch of the first gallery dedicated to textile design in Chicago, Illinois this year.
The Patternbase is a multidisciplinary textile design studio and forthcoming gallery/boutique hybrid. Based out of Chicago, IL and run by Co-directors Kristi O’Meara and Audrey Victoria Keiffer.
In 2011, The Patternbase was originally founded as a Tumblr inspired by pattern based images and designs that influenced textile design. Since then, it’s expanded into a full website that offers artists, designers, and relevant members of the design community and art world a virtual space to gather inspiration and education to enhance their personal and professional practices. The Patternbase provide free and open promotion for artists and designers through their Pattern Archive, and provide knowledge about the inner workings of the textile design industry through a series of discussions and interviews with individuals currently working within the textile and fashion design industries today.
The Patternbase say: “Any support we are able to gather, whether financial or social, will help us to launch a resource that will benefit and support the work of emerging textile artists, fashion designers, and multidisciplinary artists and designers in Chicago, as well as internationally. In addition, we have worked hard to create a series of amazing rewards for our donors and sponsors”.
This is a hugely exciting project so please do head over here and read much more about it and how you can support The Patternbase.
