2 ways to recolour your artwork in under 30 seconds in Adobe Illustrator! Check out our quick and easy tutorial on how to use the Recolor Artwork and Generative Recolor AI tools. Creating many different colourways for your designs has never been easier.
INSTRUCTIONS:
RECOLOR ARTWORK TOOL:
- Open your design file in Adobe Illustrator and create your new colour palette
- Select your new colour palette and go to Object > Group
- Select your artwork and go to Edit > Edit Colors > Recolor Artwork
- Click on Color Theme Picker and eyedrops your new colour palette
- Use can click the button that will randomly redistribute the new colours or experiment with the different shades
GENERATIVE RECOLOR AI TOOL:
- Open your design file in Adobe Illustrator
- Make sure your design is selected and go to the top menu, click Edit > Edit Colors > Generative Recolor
- Choose from the sample prompts or type your own colour palette ideas in the prompt box and several variations on that prompt will show below
- Continue to experiment with different themes, adjectives and colours
- We experimented with the prompts: disco lights, autumn leaves, winter night, spring day, tropical summer, 1970s, neon and soft pastels
