Surtex 2014 Preview: Laura Lobdell from Printed Hues

We are very excited to bring you a series of Surtex previews for the 2014 show taking place on May 18 – 20, 2014 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York. Surtex is the only show in North America solely devoted to selling and licensing original art and design for all types of products.

We are extremely proud of many of “The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design” e-course students and are pleased to be celebrating their success with them as they prepare for the show.

How are you preparing for the show?

This is my second year exhibiting at SURTEX. This year has kept me quite busy with new clients I met at SURTEX 2013, but I’ve still managed to more than double the number of collections I showcased at SURTEX last year. I’m hoping that having a larger portfolio to show this year will help catch the eye of additional potential clients. I’ve also been creating more designs that really showcase my strengths – I’m recognized most for my bold patterns and striking color palettes, so I’ve been working hard to ensure that I am playing up to those strengths with my new collections. I’m so excited to return to SURTEX this year, and looking forward to another great show!
