We launched this fun competition on our 5th birthday earlier this month to show just how many places this amazingly creative surface pattern design industry touches, to celebrate the awesome talent of those who contribute to it and to show just how truly inspiring and important the world of pattern is for everyone in our every day lives.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

Simply share your favourite patterned possessions with the world on Instagram! From an item of clothing to your best pen, a piece of furniture to your bedroom wallpaper or your finest china to wrapping paper. If you love the pattern we want to see it!

Post your prized patterned possessions on Instagram before midnight (GMT), Wednesday November 30, 2016 and share how someone’s unique creative gift has touched your life by:

tagging the designer / maker / store you bought it from
giving a brief explanation as to what you love about the pattern and/or product
Use our three special hashtags if you want to be in with a chance of winning prizes:

ONE OF 25 FREE PLACES ON WINTER SCHOOL – Win a free track of your choice on our all-new Winter School starting January 9, 2017. The Make it in Design team will select their favourite entries and the 25 winners will be announced on the Make it in Design blog and social networks on Wednesday December 7, 2016.
1 GRAND PRIZE WINNER – will win a FREE place on an upcoming module (choose from Module 1, 2 or 3) from The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design as chosen by Rachael Taylor and announced on Friday December 9, 2016.

There is no limit to the number of prized patterned possessions you can post
Only those containing all three hashtags will be accepted into the competition
If you’ve already purchased one or more Winter School tracks we will reimburse you accordingly
If you are the grand prize winner and have already signed up for that module, we will offer a full reimbursement for the price you paid
The judges decision is final
Always fully credit the copyright owner
