Pattern design showcase part 1 – Module 2 (October 2014 class)

We are really pleased to introduce part 1 of our 3-part showcase of the beautiful work from our very talented Module 2 students of The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design who took the course in October 2014. Here are some of our fantastic students & the work they have created over the 5 weeks in class.

“Completing module 2 of the art and business of surface pattern design has been a truly valued experience. It has not only given me technical skills of industry standard, but most importantly, has inspired me and given me the confidence I need to move forward in my career” – Christina Inserra | Website

“So much valuable information was packed into the 5-weeks. I was able to make great progress in figuring out my direction and will continue to refer to the provided resources as I move forward in developing my design brand” – Karen Burton | Website

“The most powerful element of the course for me was the encouragement to really delve deeper into discovering and exploring my own brand and voice within surface pattern design and being provided with a wide variety of prompts and exercises to help me hone in on my individual style” – Camilla Fellas | Website

“I love this course so much.  It is so rich with information and inspiring” – Lisa Jane Dhar | Website

“Module 2 really helped me develop and eye for collections within surface pattern design. I also stepped further away from my photographic elements to using pure mark making by hand. I really enjoyed experimenting with water colour in particular. The industry insight within this module was also invaluable to see how patterns are used on products in a commercial sense” – Amanda Louise Laing | Website

“Thank you for providing such an incredibly fun experience with Module 2. Not only do I feel more secure in building pattern collections, but I am still amazed by the level of details pertaining to building a professional image. The information provided in this class is the crème de la crème!” – Belinda Sigstad | Website

“To me what has been more valuable in Module 2 is that I has helped me to develop my own style. I am now much more confident in being myself and in letting my designs be a reflection of who I am. All the courses are so inspirational and encouraging. I really enjoy reading all the lessons, I have been drawing for years and keep tons of sketches, now I know what to do with them, before finding these courses I was totally lost” – Inma Ros

“Module 2 really got me out of my comfort zone and trying new things. I’m experimenting with creating collections now, which I think will be really valuable for me, and the branding exercises have got me thinking about my direction and set me on my future path” – Charlotte Brown | Website
