Join Rachael Taylor, Beth Kempton and the Make it in Design team in the gorgeous Esplanadi Park right in Helsinki’s city centre!
We’ll be there from 1pm in the central area of this park next to the 8m high statue of the Finnish national poet, Johan Ludvig Runeberg – we’ll be wearing name badges so you can easily spot us!
Whether you’re a professional artist or a complete novice, we’d love you to join us. This free, informal drawing event will provide much encouragement, fun and insight into the pattern techniques Rachael uses as a professional artist and give you the opportunity to meet the Make it in Design team, ask any questions and get creative!
Rachael, Beth and the team will be there for three hours in the afternoon (from 1pm – 4pm) and during this time you can pop along for 20 minutes, an hour or for the full three hours – it’s a free for all, anything goes, no pressure, fun drawing activity for designers, friends and the local community!
THINGS TO BRING!
Bring your own sketch pads and drawing utensils, sun tan cream and hat if it’s hot or an umbrella in case of rain! Benches are available but spaces on them are not guaranteed so you may wish to bring a picnic blanket if you wish to sit on the grass! The park is surrounded by cafes and shops so refreshments and facilities are available nearby.

These FREE, informal, meet, greet and sketch with Rachael Taylor sessions are designed to:
- give you an opportunity to meet and chat with Rachael and watch her at work
- help you loosen up, experiment and be spontaneous as Rachael always encourages this way of working. She strongly believes there are no mistakes – so let go and just have fun
- show you how to look for patterns in your surroundings where you’re guaranteed to see everyday things in a more beautiful way
- bring creativity to the community and show how drawing, sketching and doodling can be a useful way to de-stress in our everyday hectic lives and be enjoyable for all the family too
- give you a chance to get your work featured on the Make it in Design site and network with like-minded creatives!
