CREATIVE TIP OF THE WEEK: Repeat tool in Adobe Illustrator

3 ways to use the Repeat tool in Adobe Illustrator. Discover how to repeat your motifs in a circle, grid or mirrored with this handy tool!

 

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

RADIAL

  1. Select your motif and go to Object > Repeat > Radial.
  2. Hold down shift and drag one of the anchor points on the inner circle that appears to evenly space out your motifs in a circle.
  3. Use the arrows on the right to increase or decrease the number of motifs.

GRID

  1. Select your motif and go to Object > Repeat > Grid.
  2. Drag out the top, bottom or sides to increase the grid.

MIRROR

  1. Select your motif and go to Object > Repeat > Mirror.
  2. Select your motif and hold shift and alt to copy or motif and move it into the place. This will now be mirrored on the opposite side of your document.
