Surtex 2015 Preview: Ashley Lotecki

We are very excited to bring you a series of Surtex previews for the 2015 show taking place on May 17 – 19, 2015 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York. Surtex is the only show in North America solely devoted to selling and licensing original art and design for all types of products.

We are extremely proud of many of “The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design” e-course students and are pleased to be celebrating their success with them as they prepare for the show.

How are you preparing for the show?

I’ve been creating new artwork, developing surface pattern collections, implementing my promotional plan, and making a few collaborative projects featuring my designs which I am super excited to share closer to Surtex. This will be my debut at Surtex and I am very excited to have the opportunity to develop working relationships with new and amazing clients!

Ashley Lotecki is a Canadian illustrator and surface pattern designer that loves to create whimsical, quirky artwork. Ashley has a background in the fashion industry, with over nine years as an in-house designer and freelancer. She also works with a variety of clients through her studio, Ashley Lotecki Design, and teaches digital illustration at Ryerson University. She enjoys creating cheerful designs that give a sense of movement and life, and is often inspired by childhood memories of growing up in the Canadian Prairies and exploring her grandparents’ farm.
