Designing for wallpaper

We love this!

We were delighted to see our regular Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design course contributor Graham and Brown on The One Show here in the UK helping to promote #wallpaperweek a few weeks ago.

In case you missed it, you can watch it here (please note this link expires on 6 November, 2015). Graham and Brown feature on the show at 24:30, but if you have 30 minutes to spare Alan Partridge is also worth a watch!

The One Show - Graham and Brown

In this short clip you can hear John Carter, the present owner of Graham and Brown and grandson of the original founder explain how the company has gone from £3 million turnover in 1975 when he first joined to £90 million with 500 employees.

John is also joined on camera by both his colour and brand managers who each share loving insight into this family-run, Blackburn-based company and details about one of their busiest weeks – #wallpaperweek

The company is 70 years old and currently produces over 400,000 rolls of wallpaper a week selling to over 65 countries around the world. Now that’s impressive!
